Linksys routers for the home market default to 1 for the subnet
(as in 192.168.1.1 for the main router). Some of the other
brands default to the 0 subnet. So, much depends on whose
equipment one is buying/using. It could be that Ten-Tec or the
software developer for that portion of Omni VII coding just
happens to be using Linksys equipment.
I do recall the 0 subnet, along with 255, are typically not used
in networks due to the masking functions that many routers use,
although technically they can be used.
