Like so many other physical phenomena, the effect of zero beating is so difficult to express in words, but with several simple vector diagrams the whole situation becomes obvious.Or just by doing it. Even if you don't know or understand what is going on, it is easy to recognize that there is a beat note and that you can adjust one tone source relative to the other and hear the beat change, and slow it down until it is zero, or nearly so. |
