I remember a thread a long time ago that recommended not using the narrow roofing filters unless it was absolutely necessary. Something about the narrow filters degrading some performance. Don't know if that was an issue related to the TT 500hz filter slot in the Orion1 and if it might be fixed by using the 600hz Inrad in the 1khz slot.
