Gonset beat Icom's 756 by ~40 years ... http://www.rigpix.com/gonset/commander.htm Hammarlund by ~40 years ... http://www.rigpix.com/hammarlund/sp600jx.htm Hallicrafters by nearly 50 years ... http://www.rigpix.com/hallicrafter/sx17.htm http://www.rigpix.com/hallicrafter/ht40.htm (~20 years) Harvey Well by about 50 as well ... http://www.rigpix.com/harveywells/harveywells.htm Bottom line is that the JA companies are rarely the "first" with anything. Their often overpowering strength is recognizing coming trends and then polishing them for the consumer masses. They have however failed to do so with generic PC's and from what I can tell are now lagging in SDR as well.
