The Paragon II also transmits on AM. The Paragon I has a nice AM receiver but doesn't transmit in that mode. On the I the serial port and FM module were options, they came built in on the II, and a much better serial interface, as Carl notes.

The Paragon II hardware is only slightly improved over the Paragon. Neither
radio has an internal tuner or keyer. The main difference between the
Paragon and Paragon II is the Paragon II had more streamlined firmware and a
better serial port interface. The Paragon II functionally operates more
like an Omni VI with things like band registers. The Paragon II supports
the Icom CI-V serial port interface just like the omni VI.

I can find very little on-line about the Ten Tec
Paragon II. Is it just an updated Paragon, and if so,
what were the main differences? Or is it a vastly
improved rig? Does it have an internal keyer, and
what is it like as a rig overall?
