Paul, The spot button is a great part of the rig. Tune in a cw station and then press the spot button. Continue to tune until you do not hear the station. You have now essentially "zero beat" the other station. When you turn on either your 500 or 250 hz filters, the station will be right in the middle of the filters. I've had a Corsair II for 15 years. It's a great rig! I have a full manual, so if you have any other questions, just send me a note off list. Gary S.
