When one output is open collector, and the other is open contacts,
wiring them in parallel makes a WIRE OR, and the diodes aren't needed as
far as I can tell. It could be that the 1N4148 will have a volt or more
of drop depending how much current it takes to key the amplifier and
that diode drop may keep it from working right.
