My Corsair II or Omni VI+ I can play with the RF gain and AF gain very easyand find the setting that I want.Just my preference, Others may differ. I realise that just about all radios from now on will be more software driven. So I just keep what I have and amperfectly happy. Of course all this is predicated on the assumption that you are working from your shack. Some of us do mobile and portable operations as well.
