I used to own a TT Model 544, bought it new in the late sixties. Kept until last year. The digital display does cause birdies at some points. Solution: avoided those spots.

It will be interesting to find out how you solved this problem

I'm working on a TT 544 Digital that has a problem that I haven't tracked
down a solution to yet:

I am receiving a pulsating tone that is rather wide around 3.860 MHz. It
sounds just like the calibrator signal on an analog Triton IV, however there
is no calibrator in the digital version as far as I know.

It would seem that it is most likely the counter that I may be hearing as
there is no other processor type activity going on in the radio. I'm
hearing this signal on other bands - only once per band but not as loud.

The strongest signal is in the 75 meter phone band. The signal is loud
audio wise, however there is no S-meter reading.

Anyone seen this before... Any thoughts?

Thanks
