I went and loaded the beta again just to make sure the TX audio was truly
different.
V2 beta does change the TX audio; I bypassed my W2IHY equipment and put a
705 mic directly into the rig. I love the 705 mic since it produces GREAT
audio and is really "good enough" by itself for general communications.
However, in my opion with the beta, the quality of audio is not the same.
There is some kind of artifact in the audio now. The mic gain has to be
turned way down and there is some kind of "noise" on certain words mixed in
that you can hear through the monitor. My buddies on 75 meters I QSO with
regularly noticed a difference in my audio quality as well.
I did try and adjust the equalization, but it is I can never get rid of the
"tightness".
Everything else is working great and I appreciate Ten Tec letting up try out
the beta. I just wanted to make sure I identified this issue and also wonder
what others are seeing and if they have found a correction.
