Yes, but how does one protect from puncture through two boxes, the outside one & inside one, puncture through two layers of 2" thick rigid foam and thus leaving dents 1/4" deep and scratches on the equipment?

No drop involved.

I learned that packing for UPS must withstand a good 6 foot drop at minimum
I live near a main UPS drop off and I've seen just from the counter to the
back room what happens. DHL is my new mode of shipping- its been very good
so far. K1NDV

UPS is an absolute pain in the behind company to do business with. I too
received a package via UPS in October. It was a "drop and run" job thus no
signature. Damaged to such extent the outside of the box was torn, the
inside packing was damaged, the inside box was torn and the inside packing
damaged as well as the radio equipment. Filed a claim with UPS, then they
said it had to go back through the shipping agent and they'd have to make a
claim. Then they said the damage was due to inadequate packing. Come on
folks, it doesn't take a high school drop-out to figure that one out. Well what would one expect? I guess if it were in a iron box it might have made
it. Oh well the story continues.

Well all was done as they requested. Pictures made and sent as requested.
Package delivered to the local UPS office as requested. On and On and On
and On. Finally, I figured that their tactic was to stall and stall and
stall and perhaps I'd just go away. Well I didn't. I persisted in being a
thorn in their behind day after day after day. Finally, after 4 months I
got a check but only after they got a letter from my attorney and then a
summons to appear in local court.
