Subject: Re: [TenTec] Orion....Best Headphones?
I'm using some Sony MDR-V600 headphones with my Orion and really like
them. The only problem I have had is the covering on the headband has
come apart. It is a very thin plastic material. So far I haven't been
able to find a replacement covering. I have had them a couple of years.
If I were buying headphones now I would consider the Sennheiser HD 580.
Great reviews on eHam. They are about $150 on the internet.

Hi folks.......anyone gone through headsets and found a set that works
well
with the Orion? I've got 4 pair of pretty good phones, but none seem to
do
real well with the Orion, even when the impedance is a good match?
John K4NP ......no, I don't need a mic attached : )

Hi John -
FWIW, Santa is allegedly bringing me a pair of Sony MDR-V600 headphones.
He
was looking for MDR-V7506 (Highly recommended by some friends and getting
rave reviews on eham), but they seem to be out of print. The MDR-V600
seems
like it may be the successor. Impedance is 45 ohms.
I'll report back sometime after I wash the reindeer effluvia off my roof!
