A couple of other questions:If I were to connect filament voltage ONLY to some tubes that have been in stroage for a long time, would it be okay to do so without proper air flow around the tubes? In other words, is the heat generated by the filaments alone enough to damage the seals without proper air flow? And, since running filaments at or slightly below nominal voltage saves filament life, could I "clean out the gas" in a shelved tube effectively with a filament voltage substantially lower than the specified voltage?
