The real difference will become immediately apparent the next time you run
into a situation on the 7800 where a strong signal 1Khz away mucks up your
ability to copy a weak CW signal regardless of how narrow the DSP bandwidth
is.

I've read with interest all of the discussion of this issue. I have yet to
experience any case of a high level signal causing distorted output, at 9+35
or anywhere -- but of course I haven't found a signal around here that has
bent the S-meter yet, either, although on 75 meters at night there are some
VERY strong signals :-)
If this is indeed an "adjustment" in the radio, then maybe T-T will provide
some guidance on RF-Squared about how to solve the problem. Maybe I just
got lucky.

The real question is, what do you mean by "used differently"? It seems that
every buyer wants to re-engineer the radio in some way or other (and
everyone seems to have different hot "buttons", so to speak). Perhaps a
larger front panel with another dozen knobs :-)
