Thanks Carl...if you have been following my little problem...I use a 
homebrew power supply feeding a pair of deep cycle batts for the stations 
power supply. I will order an Airpax either locally or via the web.
Probably would not hurt to get several...one for the Omni, the FT-990 and a 
couple of lower amperage ones for the vhf/uhf gear.
