Hi Rick,
Begging the moderator's indulgence in advance for the OT:
The Volvo is by definition the car for "sensible" yuppies - the kind who
are as concerned about their health as they are about their wealth.
You are more likely to find a "Baby on Board" sign in the rear window of a
Volvo than in that of any other make. (I am still in search of a "Boxer on
Board" sign for my Mazda.)
Volvo SUV's are advertised as "the vehicle with a soul, for owners with a
conscience".
Volvo owners are much more likely to be "concerned" about "the issues" than,
say, Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG owners. You may see more Volvos parked at a
protest rally than other makes.
I owned a Volvo in Europe from 1967 to 1970. Couldn't wait to sell it and
buy an Alfa-Romeo 1750GTV coupe.
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Subject: [TenTec] Owning a Volvo?
What's the deal about "Owning a Volvo"?
I've heard that often lately (including from some Presidential
candidates) but I have no idea what they are insinuating!
Anybody?
Tnx
Rick
