When I was a kid I drove an L4B with a FT 101 at 1500 out thru a 250W 
Matchbox to a 80M inverted vee fed with 450 ohm ladder line on 80-10.  You 
could fry eggs on the tuner after a while, but it never arced or melted 
anything.
