Thanks for the suggestions. I will check the baud rate and the wiring. One
response mentioned connecting pin 2 to pin 2 and 3 to 3 but this is not what
the manual indicates. It indicates that they should be 2 to 3 and 3 to 2.
There is only one other wire which goes from pin 5 of the db-9 to pin 7 of
the db-25. There is a jumper between pin 4 and 6 on the db-9 connector.
The program I am currently trying is called TRX Manager. This works with my
Kenwood TS-570DG and a standard db-9 to db-9 cable. I will check the
settings and try again. The problem is not with the com port so it must be
either a wiring problem or a problem with baud rate. I do appreciate the
responses. I hope to get this working but, even if I am unsuccessful, I
will continue to enjoy using the Omni the quaint old fashioned way - - -
with "real" knobs and buttons!!!
YES - I am also getting multiple messages. Perhaps someone (or
something) is taking this reflector thing too far! Thanks again; BILL
