I always liked separate massive boat anchor transmitters and receivers. Nothing
beats a DX-100 and 75A-4. Much more impressive than my current Flex 6500 which
doesn't even look like a radio. Geeesh!
And you didn't need a separate shack heater in the winter. You'd need AC in
the summer but few of us had one.
Vibroplex bugs were also great fun. Want to change speed, OK, wait a sec.
I'd temporarily set up a card table next to my too-small operating desk for the
taped down dupe sheets.
