Stay away from the cheap serial to USB adapters. Only use the WHQL
certified FTDI adapters with software such as CDM v. 2.08....If you buy
the knock of Prolific unit you may have to spend a lot of time getting
the proper port recognition. It is a bit more money but worth every penny.

I'm wanting to get rid of my boat anchor of a computer running Windows 98 &

So, what's the best/cheapest solution of getting the RS-232 plug from my
Yaesu FIF-232C box into a USB on the new computer?
I see a USB to RS-232 adapter (USB-RS232) at

Any suggestions, ideas, comments?
