Pete,
I do agree that if all the modules are open then it does take up some screen
real estate. But of course that is easily solved with a 2nd monitor.
Fortunately they all don't have to be open or even installed. If you only
want rig control and logging then you just install/open those 2 apps.

I have tried twice to make the transition to DXLab. I agree with Doug that
the support is incredible, but each time I returned to DX4WIN, frustrated
with my inability to make DXLab work for me.
DXLab is too complex, too "all things to all people", and takes up too
darned much screen space when providing me the minimum information I want.
For example, to know the azimuth to a station that you want to call, you
have to have an additional component of the suite open, beyond the log.
To receive a spot, know the azimuth, and log a station you must have 4
components open (including the DXLab Launcher, SpotCollector, DXKeeper and
DXView).
While there a few things I would like changed in DX4WIN, the support
provided by AD1C and others is superb. If and when KK4HD stops updating
DX4WIN, I'll look around again, but I doubt I'll go back to DXL:ab unless
there is a massive change in philosophy.

The support is incredible! Take a look at the forum on Yahoo Groups:

Take a look at DXLab Suite which does every thing you want and is free.

Subject: [CQ-Contest] General Purpose logging program
I’m looking for a new General Purpose logging program, Windows OS.
Doesn’t need to be free, but need good author support.
The following are “off my list” for various reasons --- Logger32,
CommCat, and HRD.
User interface should be simple/straightforward.
Program must work with my rig (FTDX-5000), keep track of basic awards
like DXCC, WAZ, etc.
Must interface with QRZ and LoTW. Must do ADIF import of logs from
other programs.
Beyond that, not looking for bloated elegance.
Suggestions?
