I use the DXLab Suite with two 19" monitors, which are also used for N1MM or
Writelog.
I have the Launcher set to automatically minimize after startup. SpotCollector
can be configured to show the azimuth in a separate column, so DXView doesn't
have to be open. DXKeeper, the log module, can be sized to make it pretty
small or it can be minimized and only the small capture window left open for
logging.
I don't run the propagation module, PropView, or the QSL path module,
PathFinder.
I think the documentation is excellent, and I didn’t find it overwhelming to
learn or set up, though I took my time.

I have tried twice to make the transition to DXLab. I agree with Doug that the
support is incredible, but each time I returned to DX4WIN, frustrated with my
inability to make DXLab work for me.
DXLab is too complex, too "all things to all people", and takes up too darned
much screen space when providing me the minimum information I want. For
example, to know the azimuth to a station that you want to call, you have to
have an additional component of the suite open, beyond the log. To receive a
spot, know the azimuth, and log a station you must have 4 components open
(including the DXLab Launcher, SpotCollector, DXKeeper and DXView).
While there a few things I would like changed in DX4WIN, the support provided
by AD1C and others is superb. If and when KK4HD stops updating DX4WIN, I'll
look around again, but I doubt I'll go back to DXL:ab unless there is a massive
change in philosophy.
