Special Bulletin - The Rate Sheet Is Changing
In the works for a while, the ARRL Contester's Rate Sheet is
undergoing a pair of changes, one small and one big.
The small change is that the name is changing to "ARRL Contest Update
- News and Techniques for the Active Operator". The name "Rate
Sheet" wasn't a universally understood term, even by contesters! The
new name more closely represents what the newsletter contains.
The big change is that beginning with the 28 May issue, the
newsletter will be emailed in a combined HTML and text-only format.
(Readers that prefer text-only will still be able to read it that way
using most email clients.) The HTML format allows us to present a
more attractive package that is easier to read. Photos and graphics
will also be included for the first time.

HTML! OH NO! How will we ever survive this?? It must be the end of the
world for contesting as we know it! A new watered down name for non-geezers
no less! GEEZ, if you don't know what a Rate Sheet is you shouldn't be
contesting! And why clutter up the good old historic text only format that
could be easily forwarded via 60wpm baudot with pictures???? Who needs
them? Next thing you know they'll be running an sstv, or moonbounce, or
some kind of weird digital mode contest or something crazy like that!
