Antenna modeling guru K6STI had a few lines in QST a while ago regarding
yagis pointed at the sky. Believe his modelilng in this configuration
predicted that it should be a fairly good approximation of the real
world.

Subject: Info on Beverage Antenna...

I am looking into the possibility of putting up a Beverage for 80M & 160M
& want to ask the ones who have one or more up now for some gud info. If
u could drop me some e-mail abt how u setup yours & give me some details
(size wire, length, height above ground, & other needed parts, etc).
After wrkg the CQWWDX last weekend, I thought how much better it would
be to have a beverage up. So tks for the help & any comments or help is
appreciated!!

Rush Drake, W7RM, commented in a talk that pointing a yagi at the sky was
the only way he'd found to tune 'em correctly other than at the top of
the tower. If it works for 'RM, it works for me.
