I was just making up a lead to go from the BAND DATA connector on an
FT-1000D to an amplifier. I thought the 8-pin DIN plug was a standard item
(and the pin orientation and spacings look standard) but for some reason my
spare samples are all very reluctant to fit whereas a Yaesu item -- which is
unserviceable for other reasons, and is a poor-quality item anyway -- seems
to fit OK. Anyone know whether there's some subtlety about Yaesu DIN
connectors that makes standard types unusable?
