Eric,
Recommend you visit the ARRL web site which compiles their rig test results
there.
SADLY the last update of that was 16 Dec 1992 - so the FT-920 is not
listed. IF you
live by the numbers you would probably not get the 950SDX or 775 as the
reported dynamic range
is lower than MP (or 1000D). The 1000MP has very good DR as reported by
N5AR tests. IF you are looking for best bang for buck the FT850 with ARRL
lab reported 108db DR beats them all. IF you live by the numbers. By the
numbers the TS950 receiver is better than TS950SDX or it's misprinted. I
have to believe the newer FT1000D's have greater DR than ARRL reported due
to pin diode upgrades made to the rig.
The Omni 6+ dynamic range around 98db (n5ar testing) is not as good as the
Paragon 101db as reported by ARRL lab. If you look at the ARRL tests on
the 1992 report the Paragon is the best DR OMNI has produced - ever, at
101db. However the OMNI 6+ might have some advantages over ease of use
over the 1000MP. Yaesu has never claimed to support both Curtis A and B
type keying in their internal keyer -> the Omni rig does.
There's a few thoughts, GL! Robert
