Hi,

Recently, I bought a FT1000D. It has all the standard filters, in
particular to this discussion, it has a 500 hz and a 250 hz filter for cw.

My old TS930s had a 500 hz filter installed in it, as well as a
rotary knob on the front which could reduce the filter size down to about 200
hz. I found it most useful in SS contests, as I spent a lot of time with an
estimated 350 or 400 hz of filtering.

So far, this is the only part of the TS930s which I really miss.
In a contest such as SS where there is an awful lot of qrm, 500 hz is often
too wide, but 250 hz is usually too narrow. Has anyone come up with a
solution to this problem? Are there 350 hz or 400 hz filters available to
replace either the 250 or 500 hz filters in the unit? If not, does any other
outfit make them? (I remember IRC used to make filters in the early 1980's).

73, Dave Clemons K1VUT

p.s. - If I receive any information, I will be glad to summarize it on this
       group.
