Thanks Joe for the input...

I previously had 05-07 CAT RTS set to DISABLE and 05-08 CAT TOT set to 1000ms,
also I have 05-05 CAT RATE set to 19200 (which is the same as WL)

In WL am using Rig Type FT-991. I could not find a selection for the Rig Type
FT-891 in WL.

Have setup with N1MM+ with the rig type FT-891 and DTR: Always Off, RTS: Always
Off, and baud rate 19200 and it seems to be functioning fine.

Also setup WSJT-X with these parameters working with JTAlert and N3FJP--ACLog,
and that setup appears to be working fine as well. I have used this setup for
Digital FT8/FT4, but have used WL and DigiRite for some moderate contesting.

anymore suggestions?

Try setting CAT RTS (Menu 05-08) to DISABLE. If for some reason
WriteLog is not setting RTS on the CAT port to HIGH (ON), the
newer Yaesu radios (since FTdx9000 and FT-2000) will not send
CAT data to the computer with their default configuration.

You may also want to set 05-07 CAT TOT to 100 or 1000 ms depending
on how many parameters the logging program requests at one time.
