All,

Maybe I am not understanding this thread. But I run the Writelog logging (Entry) window on my main monitor. I run all of the rttyrite windows for both radios and 2Tone clones, plus the mmtty decoders all on my second monitor. I put other garbage on a third monitor.

So I left click on rtty calls, reports etc all the time in any of the writelog windows on the second monitor and have the text go to the entry window.

Now all the rttyrite windows with clones are all on the same monitor.

Actually that is not needed. As I wrote this, I just moved any of the four rttyrite windows over to the main monitor and they still sent data to the entry window.

So a counterpoint. I hate computers that all give different results when supposedly running the same operating system, hi

Phil,

As you have discovered to populate the Call field with a left click the
Rttyrite window must be on the main monitor, not the extended desktop.
You have also discovered that a right mouse click allows you to post it
to the band map. I was unaware of that option, but have used a similar
one.

I have the stack register window open on my main monitor. I have WL
setup so that a right click on a call, either on the main monitor or on
the second monitor will place the call into the stack. I have also
defined two unused keys, '[' and']", with keyboard shortcuts to push a
call onto the stack or pop it from the stack. So if the 2Tone clone
window on the second monitor does a better job of decoding a call than
either the MMTTY window or the 2Tone clone window on the first monitor I
right click to put it into the stack then immediately hit the '[' key to
pop it from the stack to the Call field. Works very smoothly.

To make this happen you must have the following lines in your
writelog.ini file.

[RttyContextMenuEntries]
1=PUSHCALL

This eliminates all the other menu choices that you currently see that
allows you to send the call to the Band Map. With this setup you don't
need the Band Map as the right click immediately pushes it to the
stack. Then the shortcut key pops it from there to the Call field.
It's much faster than having to select a choice of action from the menu
of options that normally opens with a right click.

Subject: [WriteLog] Using a second monitor issue

Hi all,

After many months (years?) of not plucking up the courage to activate
XMMT.OCX, I finally got around to doing this last week while I was off
work,
ready for the Roundup.
The reason was to allow me to use 2Tone in a cloned window, and once I read
the instructions from Don AA5AU, I got it all configured and working a
treat
- apart from one small issue!

I use 2 monitors in my shack, just for space to have enough windows open to
see what I want.

On the main window, I have the RTTYRite decoder window running MMTTY, so I
opened a clone window for 2Tone, and put this on my second monitor.
One of the points that Don made was that you could click on a call in
EITHER
window and it would populate the entry window.

It didn't, but I was able to right-click on a highlighted call and select
Enter on Bandmap. That worked, so that was how I continued in the contest
last weekend.

Last night, I emailed Don, asking where it was on his site that I saw the
info that I could click on a call in the cloned window, and he pointed
me to
it, so I was puzzled.
In one of those lightbulb moments, I just tried moving the cloned RTTYRote
window to the main screen, and yes, I could click on a call and it
populated
the entry window.

Is this an anomaly, or is there something I have missed elsewhere? Could be
one of those "can't see the trees" moments, or a senior moment!

Anyone else seeing the same, or is it me?
