well, you can't make any messages with the shift+F-key until there
are some messages contained somewhere for writelog to find, I created
them with windows sound recorder and also tried with Goldwave and placed
them in the location that writelog expects to see them so that it can
either send or modify them with the F-keys. When I go straight to the
location the wav files are there are clicking on them plays them with
windows sound recorder.... but going back to Writelog and in the setup
window it asks you to rouse for SSB files and it can't find anything at
that location . I have tried no extensions msg2, wav extension msg2.wav,
and wl extension msg2.wl... none show up... i am baffled, Cort

Well you are hot onto the problem then Cort. Something must be hosed
up with your Writelog. Maybe there is a Writelog reflector. I don’t
think changing the .wav file to .wl will work. When you did the Shift
F1 it made a msg2.wav because Writelog wants a .wav file or it would
have made it .wl. You are on the right track..

that's true Ralph, and there is a drop down box, click on it and
it only shows one other than.wl and it is *.cnt, no all at all, I
looked at the .ini file and it shows that wav files are to be in the
spot that i put them. doesn't make any sense to me, Thanks, Cort

Nothing shows up in the folder because the Writelog program is looking
for .wl files for some reason. There must be a dropdown box that you
can select “ALL” file types, then you can select your .wav files?

Can any one help me sort out this problem? Everything is working with
microHam router, FT2000D, computer, and Writelog except for one thing.
I cannot get writelog to send messages with the F-keys. A box comes up
with the message saying that
C:\Users\K4WI\Documents\Writelog\WaveFiles\msg2.wav not found .I have
created messages 2 thru 11(msg2.wav to msg11.wav) in this folder with
windows sound recorder. They show up in that folder and when clicked on
they play with windows sound recorder as recorded. So good so far; but
when i go into the Writelog program and look under Setup and
CW/RTTY/SSB memories and SSB button , then Brouse for location,
nothing shows up in that folder I think because Writelog is looking
for .wl files instead of .wav files. I tried putting the wav files in
a new folder on the root C:\wavfiles but it still will not find them.
I hope i have made this problem clear and someone can show me how to
fix!! thanks, Cort K4WI
