Grant,
I have a new pc with an I7 processor, 8g of memory and a 256g ssd. The
pc takes a little less than 20 seconds to boot up which is real nice.
I'm sure every thing else runs faster, but the most noticeable
improvement is the boot up speed.

Planning on a faster I5 CPU. That's a 4 core and since I am not crunching
huge bunches of numbers, it will be fast enough.
The supplier suggested another way to speed things up: use a solid state
drive since I don't need a large drive. At about $1 a gigabyte, it seems a
good a good choice.
Is anyone using an SSD? I am guessing the flash memory is not bothered by
the presence of high RF energy, but I am not sure...so I am asking.
