All,
After about two weeks of fussing with UserPort and Direct IO I finally got
Writelog to put the antenna relay commands on LPT1. I even had to Ghost
back to a version of WinXP install before adding all my radio apps. Neither
UserPort nor Direct IO would uninstall. I could get Writelog to work
momentarily after some unknown series of adjustments but as soon as focus
left the Writelog window the LPT1 port was gone.
What I finally did yesterday out of frustration - There are 18 different
combinations of configuration for the printer port, I thought and I had
tried many.
Yesterday I went into the BIOS on my Dell workstation and reset the mode of
the printer port to "AT". It was set to something called "PS/2" even though
the Microsoft driver was saying "ECP".
And lo and behold it works. And further more it just came up this morning
and still works. So maybe that is a clue to those of us who have not been
able to get this to work. Setting the port address in writelog.ini does
not seem to be necessary for antenna relay commands.
Now to see if that solves my loss of antenna relay control at the ends of
my transmissions.
