Rick:

Are you saying that if you place, for example, %C % <msg2.wav> in the F2
message slot and press F2, it only looks for/plays <msg2.wav>? Here, it
plays the whole string. However, recording with Shift-F2 only records
<msg2.wav>, and I think that is not modifiable.

Your symptoms suggest that either you do not have all your .wav files in the
same directory ( I created a folder just for them), that you have not
pointed to the directory containing your .wav files in Setup/Ports, or that
you have not recorded all messages in the same format (Tools/Soundboard
options/Select Wave file compression).

I am trying to get Writelog (version 42) to do voice keying.
I can push shift f<n>, record, and push f<n> and play back.
This all works with files named msgn.wav in the directory "ham".
But the help files say I can type in syntax like
%c<filename.wav> into the buffers and get Writelog to parse it.
Instead, it just looks for msgn.wav. Is the help file wrong,
or do I have a setting wrong? Also, it looks for msg2.wav, etc
in ham not ham/WaveRecordings, as the help file suggests.
