"Windows XP SP2 probably has more bad press than its
actual reputation warrants. In my shop we are deploying
it without problem or fanfare; only a couple of non-critical
applications have been affected by it."
My company is going with SP2 as well as it resolves many security concerns. We
have 600,000+ pc's world wide.
The only issue is that SP2 cannot automatically configure itself for many of
your old non-Micropsoft applications. This is where the most complaint is
coming from.
You will likely need to change how the firewall works. I found that I needed
to shut off the virus software monitoring on my home computer (XP Pro) also.
Aside from that, no problems encountered.
