You can bring up a bandmap on vfo B (I've done it on my ts-940 when working split, just to see if anyone is spotted near my tx frequency). A separate bandmap on VFO B is only useful if your rig allows split onto a different band. When operating 2VFO in-band, everything needs to go into the same bandmap. (Many thanks to whoever recommended programming a spare message key to %B%W, which "posts" a callsign into the bandmap and clears the entry line. It's perfect for entering other people's run frequencies into the bandmap while S&Ping.) Unfortunatly I can't seem to get two entry windows - one on each vfo. Writelog gets really confused when I tell it that both entry windows should look at com1 for the rig data. Too bad this doesn't work, it would certianly be nice.It works fine here with a 1000MPmk1. The minor disadvantage is that the frequency logged is always the frequency of VFO A, but that doesn't matter for in-band 2VFO. The major disadvantage is that the TX selection (at least on the MP) doesn't automatically follow the Radio 1/2 (L/R) selection in WL. You have to remember to swap both WL and the rig - and if you forget, then you're really "split"! Aside from those known problems, I just *might* have figured out how to make SO2V work for RTTY, with RX and FSK on both VFOs. CU on 40m in the Volta test, and we'll find out! (If I don't come back to your call, try sending PRESS RED BUTTON DUMMY :-) So it's no e-mail here for the next 24+ hours. After the contest, I'll report back on what worked... or didn't.
