Maybe the color could be user selectable. Then the individual could pick the
color that fits his needs best regardless of the ability to see color.

Then, you could even make the band "disappear" by making the "worked" color
the same as the background.

I would not put this high on the wish list though.

I agree that the current implementation is a bit confusing.
