Ladies and gentle persons, here is the bottom line on some of the 'unusual'
but legal JA call signs.

ALL  7K2,7K4,7L2,7L3,7L4,7M2,7M3,7N2,7N3 are in the JA number ONE call area
(Kanto).

Therefore, 7L4IOU is not obliged to sign /1 because he is already located in
JA1 :)

Unlike USA stations, JAs are legally obligated to sign /x if they operate
from a call area other than the one depicted in their 'home' call sign.

The various RTTY contest logging software code writers were informed of the
above, some time ago.
