OK, I did it!!
To summaize the issue, I wanted to do CW keying via a serial port seperate
from the radio. One program would the other would not. To add to the
problem, I power my radio interface from the serial port. Of course to add
injury to insult :-) I had to use Windows 2000 (mostly for work reasons),
reason for serial keying... So here we go!!!!!!!
Windows 2000 & FT-1000
COM2 Radio and CW Keying and still getting the power for the radio
interface!!
Pin 2 RXD
Pin 3 TXD
Pin 4 DTR - CW keying line via resistor
Pin 5 GND - CW Ground side
(I feed an Opto Isolator)
Pin 7 RTS - to a diode for the radio PWR
TNX for all the help with little tips and tricks that I recieved!! I will
still work on improving the layout and hope this helps others :-)
