The problem turned out to be interrupt conflicts between my rotor controller
and my PK-900. The PK-900 was on in RTTY mode and was dribbling gibberish
which conflicted with Writelog trying to validate the Rotor-EZ controller. I
turned off the PK-900 and everything is now fine.
