Great activity on 222 last night. I noted the same conditions. I worked about the same crew, but missed KA3FQS. I tried with N4QWZ and we almost made it on meteors at about 1000 miles, but I had to stop to get my beauty sleep as I am off early today for a trout fishin' trip to the White Mtns in NH.  I never heard K3SK after 15 minutes of listening on Q65B. I also worked WW1Z and WA1T.

I did hear a new beacon for me at least on 222.062.4 CW. VE3WCC/b in FN15XI. It is quite weak and I have to wait for a QSB peak to pick it out. That is a new beacon for me. I found it by accident, as I stowed the antenna NW in case of high winds. I wonder if any other northern New England ops hear it.

I tried with WA3EOQ and noted that Howard was weaker than last week. I was sending my grid for three transmissions before he came out of the noise enough to tell wat hewas sending. After the QSO, I realized that I had the wrong antenna selected. I was using my 8 X 5 el array aimed SW at 224 degrees. I was surprised that I heard him at all. In the past, that array does not hear EOQ at all.

I am waiting to hear what happened with the WZ1V QSO Marathon. The 222ctivity Committee is supposed to issue a report later today.

Really good evening on 222 last night. Things started out slowly with the chat page list significantly smaller than usual at the start and no evidence of enhanced propagation. But new stations continued to get on the band as the evening progressed so there was always a new contact or grid available to keep it interesting.

I ended the night with 22 unique contacts and 14 grids worked.

GL to everyone participating in the June VHF Contest this weekend.
