Sorry that this is very late, but it is Tuesday evening and that means
222 Activity Night. I will not be able to participate as temps are
supposed to drop to -1 F and the snow is about 2 or 3 ft deep depending
on where you step. I have no good way to get up to the shack, so I am
sitting this one out.
If you have access to your shack, why not turn on the 222 MHz gear and
look for callers around 222.100 plus or minus. Many of the players
check in to the ON4KST chat page to set up skeds. Use the 144/432 MHz
Region 2 chat. And don't forget to write up what you heard and
worked. Such writeups can inform others to look for you in the future.
It is a "win win" situation. Activity begets activity. I know that
KK4MA came on two Tuesdays ago and now many are looking his way down in
S. Carolina.
I am hoping that we get a break with the weather, but every day up here
is very windy and the snow is blowing around. The road in front of my
house just had to be plowed out (again) due to blowing snow. Wind
blowing down my field at the house tends to clog up the road. I cannot
see the 222 array from the house very well, but the mast is still there
and there are four antennas. I am not sure that the antennas are still
in one piece. I would not be surprised if one or more booms have snapped.
I am hoping to be QRV back on 222 as March approaches. So far I see no
break in the cold weather. All the weathermen seem to say is Bomb
Cyclone, atmospheric river, Polar Vortex, and end -of-the -World events
with dogs and cats sleeping together.
So get on 222 tonight and have fun.
