The QSB peaks don't seem to be as severe over "some" long paths. I seem to
be able to work K1WHS at 500 miles any Tuesday evening with little
trouble. Maybe it's because our signals are skimming the ridges instead of
going across them (mostly). There's always a little QSB but nothing very
severe. K1FMS was solid here (new station for me). I tried with K1ZK
later and was able to complete with a real strong QSB peak on my end but
Zach didn't get my "73" to complete on his end. Then he went into the
noise here. WA3NUF usually rocks my rx here, but last week he was just out
of the noise. Missed him last night as I was on and off. Not that it made
any difference, but it was very cold (~10F) here and snowing. N1GC to the
southwest was as loud as ever - go figure. I guess the only way to make
QSOs is to get on and try it whether the condx look good or not - hi.
