When and how did all this logging situation start happening ?Boils down to
everyone wants a trophyFor what ?The ARRL added Analog - Digital - Mixed
several years ago.Contests are supposed to be fun. Not making guessed log
corrections for hours untilthe robot approves your logWe have enough trouble
getting hams to use the advanced VHF contest programAnd that continues to be a
problem.I'm going to adventure back to the ARRL telling us to compete, leave
some equipment homeLimited VHF contesting was the start of the downfall. This
new mode problem is going to be multiplied by ten in the September contestBut I
will guarantee one thing, it will not be corrected by thenI hope to be
operating in September. If I see this problem not being repaired, I'll send
mysummary to 3830. About ten years ago, the ARRL had a year long contest. After
you sent your LOTW log in, you were puton a very long world wide list. I looked
where I was in February and saw I was in the top 300. I started becoming more
active and slowly crept up. The year ended and I finished in the top 25 world
wide. What would be wrong if we went back to the old days. Low Power - High
powerThis year you come in 25th place. Next year you come in 15th. We
absolutely win nothing. Play for nothing. Is more categories going to help ?
NoooooooooSee you in SeptemberHerb K2LNS
