It should be used if band is not open. Especially if looking for
multipliers. I can work out 1000 miles, at will, on 6m using Q65 30A
mode. ANY time of day.

This works well for us. It gets everybody on the same frequency and makes for faster contacts, than hanging out on the call frequencies. To me, Q65
looks like more of a mode to use for schedules. It does seem to work with
weaker signals than FT8. W4AS and I had pretty good luck with Q65C30, on 1296 skeds. But, I don't think it is quite as social as FT8. That is, I don't think that people hanging out on a frequency, looking for contacts will work as well as FT8. Just my opinion. Try Q65, in the 432 Sprint. A lot to learn. ou think Q65 modes will be used during the upcoming June VHFcontest? I was interested
in this sentence in the quick start guide:"Q65 will enable stations with a modest
Yagi and 100 W or more and towork one another on 6 m at distances up to ~2000 km on most
days of theyear, in dead band conditions."73Stu2,
