During contests, here in the South East, we all get on FT8, on 144.174 and
432.174. This works well for us. It gets everybody on the same frequency and
makes for faster contacts, than hanging out on the call frequencies. To me, Q65
looks like more of a mode to use for schedules. It does seem to work with
weaker signals than FT8. W4AS and I had pretty good luck with Q65C30, on 1296
skeds. But, I don't think it is quite as social as FT8. That is, I don't think
that people hanging out on a frequency, looking for contacts will work as well
as FT8. Just my opinion. Try Q65, in the 432 Sprint. A lot to learn.

Do you think Q65 modes will be used during the upcoming June VHF
contest? I was interested in this sentence in the quick start guide:

"Q65 will enable stations with a modest Yagi and 100 W or more and to
work one another on 6 m at distances up to ~2000 km on most days of the
year, in dead band conditions."
