Hi Marshall,

Even though I agree with you, the problem on 313 is that not everyone, perhaps even most stations, are not in the contest. Folks just want to work DX or make casual contacts. Perhaps there are too many conflicting interests on a single frequency. I respectfully avoided anyone calling with a special purpose (CQ DX, CQ EU, CQ EC, CQ state, etc) and tried calling with "CQ WW" myself, but to no avail. For many people the "WW" is not a prompt to change modes.

We could try to establish a different frequency for contests (like we do for FM contacts on 2m), but folks will go where the action is, so that idea is probably DOA.

After a while I decided not to use CM on 6m anymore as at many times it became a struggle to get the sequences right. It seemed worse this time compared to other VHF contests lately. At times I would change from CM to non-CM and then the other station switched to CM. Some folks abandoned the QSO. It was tiring at times, and I don't fault anyone for this.

HI everyone...but if they answer YOUR CQ, they most likely will answer
