The versions of Writelog on two or more computers on a network must absolutely
be the same.  W4NH group discovered that after several years of knashing
teeth.
The Writelog guys will tell you that it doesn't matter but it does.  I am not
sure about the computer OS question but we run XP on all the computers on our
network.  Why take chances.  Finally, make sure that you have a good quality
network.  We used to connect all of the computers with a hub using whatever
CAT5
we had around.  We changed to a nice professional quality network switch and
good professional quality CAT5 cabling.  The network and WriteLog runs without
a
hitch now at W4NH.

Subject: [VHFcontesting] Writelog Networking Problems

Just wondering if 2 different versions of writelog would cause problems
communicating to have networked logging.  One computer is a windows 7 and
the other Windows XP, could this also be the problem.  Both computers were
hard wired into the router.

Any help with work debugging networking with the writelog program would be
helpful.  I did read the website help pages and saw the internet kit,
downloaded it but cant figure out how it works.
