There is nothing wrong with OPERATING portable with higher power; you would
just be in a different class than Single Op Portable (which is QRP 10 watts
or less, as Gene noted).
I've been in the Single Op Portable (QRP) class for many years and it is
quite challenging, sometimes frustrating and sometimes very rewarding.
