One solution I have used with my Icom 751A driving transverters is to operate
split with the transmit VFO on CW and the receive one on USB. You then just
need to learn what the appropriate frequency offset is for your rig.

That's sounds like a good idea as long as this type of signal emission is in
compliance for a particular band segment.

You could use an external cw keyer, with audio sidetone output and run
it into your radio mic input.. then you can stay on ssb all the time..
