II EADX 6M CONTEST


ORGANIZATION: The Unió de Radioaficionats de Barcelona i Baix
Llobregat in collaboration with the BARRETINA'S TEAM and RASE DX

OBJETIVES: Promoting 6 meters band and demand the end of the existing
restrictions for this band in certain areas of EA.

ENTRANTS: Licensed amateur radio and SWL from all over the world.

CATEGORIES:

10Single operator
11Multioperator or Club Stations
12Short Wave Listeners (SWL)

Only one transmitter can be used at the same time.

All stations must be operated from the same location during all contest period.

CONTEST PERIOD: From Saturday 1400 UTC 12th July 2008 till Sunday 1400
UTC 13th July 2008.

CONTACTS:  One station can only be worked once on each mode (SSB and
CW). All duplicate QSOs must be clearly stated as DUPE in the logs
with no points claimed. Contacts made through repeaters, satellites or
EME are not allowed.

MODES OF OPERATION: Contacts can be performed in A1A (CW) and/or J3E (SSB).

EXCHANGE: RS (T) plus full 6 digits QTH locator (i.e. 59(9) JN11BH).
Contact time must be logged but you do not need to exchange it during
the QSO.

SWL: They must receive and write down in the log the following data of
both stations: Callsign, QTH locator, date and time. It's not allowed
to log more than 5 QSOs with the same station.

SCORE: One (1) point per kilometer. SWL: One (1) point per QSO.

Final score will be the sum of all points multiply by the sum of all
multipliers.

MultiplieRs: One (1) multiplier for each different main grid square of
each WW Locator achieved during the contest (i.e JN11, IN62, etc.).



LOGS: The following formats are accepted:

13Digital logs: Only in Cabrillo format.
14Paper logs: This format ONLY allowed for logs with less than Ten
(10) QSO. Normalised IARU contest sheets or similar and a summary
sheet showing essential information and leaving enough space for
contest manager or contest committee notes. Multioperator stations
must be clearly indicated. Final claimed score must be clearly shown
in the upper part of the summary sheet. We would be very grateful if
you would send your logs in Cabrillo format in order to make easier
the correction task.

Stations should show clearly the category of participation.
Multioperators should list all operators of the multioperator team.

Comments and/or photos of your contest activity will be welcome for
possible spreading or publishing.

Logs must be postmarked not later than 15th September 2008 and you can
send them to:

VERIFICATION and DISQUALIFICATION: The contest organization will take
the responsibility of the log verification. Minor errors can be
penalized with loss of points. A QSO won't count if an obvious error
in QTH locator or a time error of more than 10 minutes is found.
Claiming points in a dupe contact will be penalized twice the contact
value.

The following cases will be deemed cause for disqualification of the contestant:

17Any violation of contest rules or the IARU plan band.
18Violation of amateur radio regulations in the country of the contestant.
19Use of DX Cluster for self-announcements or using it as personal log.
20Operators of multioperator stations participating with his own
callsign at the same time.
21Giving false data to other contestants or the organization.
22Helping out certain contestants at the expense of the rest of contestants.
23Make contacts in the DX segment (50,100 - 50,130) except for
transcontinental contacts.

CLAIMS: Must be sent to the contest manager only by e-mail to:
urbbll@telefonica.net and not later than 15 days after the publication
of the results in the organisation web site: www.urb-ea3mm.org.

TROPHIES

241st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category, awarded by LA UNIÓ DE
RADIOAFICIONATS DE BARCELONA I BAIX LLOBREGAT
25EA station achieving the longest distance QSO, awarded by RASE DX
26Local Section of URE with most number of QSOs, awarded by BARRETINA TEAM

Contestants must have at least the 25% of the points claimed by the
winner of each category to achieve one of the above trophies. Only one
trophy can be awarded to the same contestant.

SPECIAL AWARDS

27Achieving more SSB contacts
28Achieving more CW contacts
29First place of each EA district
30First  place of each DXCC or WAE entity

AWARDS to all contestants achieving at least the 25% of the points
claimed by the winner of each category.

COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL to contestants participating 5 consecutive years.

All prizes will be presented in the MERCAHAM 2009 fair and it will be
announced long in advance.

Contestants assume total acceptation of the above rules. All decisions
and/or actions of the organization are official and final. A
prestigious radio amateur will act as secretary of the Organizing
Committee.
